By inviting the Movie Guess Bot ("the Bot") to your Discord server or using its features (including commands such as /help, /start, /guess, /skip, and /leaderboard), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Bot.

2. Description of Service

Movie Guess Bot is a Discord application that facilitates a movie trivia game. The Bot provides GIFs representing movies, evaluates user guesses using fuzzy matching algorithms, and tracks scores via leaderboards.

3. User Conduct

Users are expected to use the Bot for its intended purpose—playing the movie guessing game. You agree not to:

Exploit bugs or glitches to manipulate the leaderboard scores.
Spam commands in a way that degrades the Bot's performance for others.
Use the Bot in a way that violates the Discord Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.

4 Third-Party Content (GIFs)

The Bot displays GIFs depicting scenes from popular movies. These images are the property of their respective copyright holders. The Bot uses these images solely for the purpose of a trivia game (Fair Use). We claim no ownership over the movie titles or imagery displayed.

5. Availability and Termination

We reserve the right to:

Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Bot at any time without notice.
Reset leaderboards or game data if technical updates require it.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Bot is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of being available at all times.

7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the Bot Developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Bot.

This Privacy Policy explains how Guess the Movie Bot collects, uses, and stores your data. We are committed to protecting your privacy and only collecting the minimum amount of data required for the Bot to function.

1. Information We Collect

To provide the guessing game functionality and maintain leaderboards, we collect and store the following data in a local SQLite database:

1.1 User Data

User ID: Your unique Discord User ID (Snowflake).
Username/Nickname: Your display name within the specific guild where the game is played.
Game Stats: Your number of correct guesses and current score.

1.2 Guild Data

Guild ID: The unique ID of the server where the Bot is installed.
Guild Name: The name of the server (used for the Global/Server Leaderboard).

2. How We Use Your Information

The collected data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

Game State Management: To track which user has guessed which movie and enforce the "One Attempt Only" rule.
Leaderboards: To display the "Member Leaderboard" (top players in a server) and the "Server Leaderboard" (guilds with the most correct guesses).

3. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored in a persistent SQL database hosted on the machine running the Bot. We take reasonable measures to protect this data from unauthorized access. We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to outside parties.

4. Data Retention

Data is retained indefinitely to maintain the history of the leaderboards. However, data may be cleared upon specific user request.

5. Your Rights for ata Removal)

You have the right to request the removal of your data from the Bot's database. If you wish to have your User ID and score deleted from the leaderboards, please contact us via the method below.

Note: Removing your data will reset your score to zero.
